Long before the luxury real estate market discovered that art and property are deeply connected, I had already learned it firsthand.
Steven Kaufman worked alongside Andy Warhol at The Factory, absorbing the master's techniques — the silkscreen process, the bold colors, the cultural icons — and then spent decades developing his own voice within that tradition.
His work has appeared in homes I've represented and in the collections of people I deeply respect. There's something about great art and great real estate that rhymes: both are about seeing value where others haven't yet, and holding onto it with conviction.
The Kaufman collection is worth knowing. Not just for its investment potential (though that's real), but for what it represents: a direct line to one of the most transformative moments in American art history, filtered through an artist who made it his own.
